Well, one of our own sort of won. In the sole category that sported a Michigan nominee--"Best Chef, Great Lakes" with Zingerman's Alex Young repping the mitten--the one who took home the award was ultimately Michael Symon for Cleveland's Lola. Which is almost a Michigan win, since Symon recently opened Roast inside the Westin Book-Cadillac which, in light of his increasing fame (first made a nationally-known name amongst foodies and Food Network fans with his Iron Chef win), is bound to get increasing amounts of national attention. Good for him and good for us. Congrats on the win, Mr. Symon, though I think the Rattlesnake's Jimmy Schmidt can still claim the sole Michigan title-holder!
